The Providence Health Care Research Institute (PHCRI) is the research partner of Providence Health Care. Established in 2005, PHCRI promotes research activities throughout all of its research centres: the UBC James Hogg Research Centre (JHRC), the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS (BC-CfE), the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences (CHEOS), the Centre for Healthy Aging (CHAP), and the Centre for Practitioner Renewal (CPR).

At PHCRI, researchers have expertise in the areas of laboratory, clinical, and epidemiological research, specializing in the fields of HIV/AIDS, heart disease, renal disease, gastro-intestinal diseases, psychiatry, and geriatrics.

The new PHCRI website features information on current research iniatiives, research support services, and research ethics. The website also provides researchers with news updates, events listings, and information on current funding opportunities for research.
